2007 Shelby Cobra GT500

Here we have a 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500 that I had the pleasure of performing my car detailing magic on. To quote the movie the Outsiders, "Mustangs are tuff...real tuff!" I have always loved that line from the movie, as I have long loved Mustangs.

I have also loved Mustangs since I can remember. My fascination with them began during high school in the early eighties. I had a friend who owned a Mach 1 and I thought it was just the coolest thing. He was the only one among us who even owned a car.

This particular Mustang 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500 has a number of upgrades or after market enhancements, if you will.

Let me point out a few that I will highlight during this car detail...

Shelby Cobra wheel detail-mesh wheels are not detail friendly!

Nothing improves the look and presentation as dramatically and quickly as a set of custom wheels and tires can. This really sets the car on a solid foundation, both literally and figuratively, like great wheels and tires; such is the case here with these mesh wheels.

Here we have a closeup of the front end to highlight the grill areas of this car detail. This can be a tricky part of the auto detailing process. Back in the day I would spend so much extra time trying to get this area meticulously detailed and perfect.

The way I used to accomplish this task was really an exhaustive attempt; a truly futile undertaking!

But that was then; and this is now.

All in a way that uses about one tenth the time and effort it required before!

Looking into the mesh of this front end will show no trace of any kind, as well as a plastic grill that looks as perfect as the day it was brand new. Plastics on cars are notorious for getting dirty, dried out and weathered looking; not the case here!

Here we are under the hood of this fine 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500; a real piece of American engineering and a true American Icon! You might have noticed the hood safety closures from the first picture at the top. When I am talking to the younger generation, this is always brought up as to the purpose of these closures. In this case, it is really just about appearance and the "look" of the theme here.

You will also be able to note the entire aftermarket intake system by K&N.

In the very center of the engine area, you can also see the small upper pulley of the supercharger that is on this engine.

I have had the opportunity to drive this amazing Mustang and let me tell you, it has colossal amounts of horsepower and torque!

As I said at the beginning, I love the Ford Mustang and certainly have a greater affinity for the Cobra GT500.

The owner of this car has done a fabulous job taking an already amazing piece of American Muscle, and adding his own unique sense of style through engine, suspension, and interior modifications.

It is always a joy and a pleasure to detail this car.

As I said at the beginning; I have loved the Mustang since I was too young to drive. The nostalgia of the icon, the sound of American V-8 power plant; all gets bumped up to a much higher lever of appreciation and wonderment within this unique Mustang.

I have generally used other mobile detail services in the past and continue to do so for what I call a normal detail job. But I met Darren through Exclusive Motors as we share the same building. My wife uses the Suburban to run our 3 kids around and it gets very dirty in the process.
