Just What Makes the Best the Best?

Like every area of life, determining the best is going to be a very subjective call. Meaning, there will be as many opinions as there are people. Because what I look for in the best car waxes, may not be what you look for. No single product contains ever possible benefit. Just like yourself, I have my select favorites. Of all the products collecting dust in your garage, you probably have a few favorites you find yourself using more often then not; there is a reason for this. Unlike yourself, my opinions and preferences come from the unique position of my professional world of auto detailing:

• I work on real cars, in the real world, using my own two hands!

And I do all this to an audience of overly critical and entitled group of people; all of which demand results! If you can't deliver the results, you don't mean anything!

Keeping It Simple

Over to the right in the third column, I have made a simplified list of products that I consider to be the essentials of proper car paint care. Not only will these products deliver professional results, but if you are the type of person that enjoys spending less time researching, and more time making their cars shine, then this is a very simplified approach for you. Once again, I will not bury you with product after product, but simply let you know what works based on first hand experience, and products that are actually affordable and easy to get. I can't be any more direct and specific than that. My professional philosophy is also my personal philosophy, which means effective results in the most efficient manner; like I said, "Maximum results, with minimal efforts!" I use this paste wax from Meguiar's on most of my high end black and dark colored cars. With it being so user friendly as well as economical, it is an easy winner. After I apply the above paste wax, I then follow up using the next product just below for truly exceptional shine and depth!

• You will not find an easier product to use.
• Will not stain black trim pieces.
• Perfect as a follow-up to your choice in a paste wax.
• Can be used in direct sunlight on hot paint.
• Use as a stand alone wax, or as a wax extender in between paste wax applications.

If you want to be wowed by two very affordable and basic products, both of these Ultimate products from Meguiar's are a must have; you seriously will not be disappointed! What is so truly amazing about the Ultimate spray wax is finished results that are on par with a quality paste wax; the results of advanced chemical engineering! This is one of the most versatile products and I think everyone should have this as part of their personal arsenal of car care products.

The Best Car Waxes-
Premium Paste

There exists a certain fringe group of people with an over developed sense of discernment, combined with a hyper critical eye. For people who simply demand the best, we enter into the world of premium car waxes. While this is not at the extreme top of the echelon of car waxes, it does remain as a leading option of enthusiasts and demanding individuals. For those of you with this level of "discerning taste", a premium wax is all that will do.

My best car waxes list would not be complete without the best in a liquid car wax. When it comes to the ultimate in protection and durability, nothing compares to the science behind polymers. These synthetic ingredients have the ability to create molecular bonds with each other that are far superior to the bonds created naturally within natural wax based products. While many enthusiasts look for excuses to wax their cars, many more people are simply looking for ways to wax less often, rather than more often; polymer technology is the answer!

Meguiars #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0

• Perfect for anyone looking to wax less often, rather than more often.
• Perfect for those large projects like RV's, planes, and boats.
• Use every 6-12 months depending on conditions of weather and use.

Darren's Tips

I am a firm believer in the technology of synthetic polymers and have seen how these hold up in real world conditions. Polymers create a slicker feel to your cars paint than that of traditional paste waxes. The trade off for this level of protection will be (2) main points: Visual results will suffer as compared to a quality paste wax, and there will be dusting during removal unlike the paste waxes of above. But for any light colored cars, boats, planes, or RV's, these are the only way to go. I use this product as a base coat, and then follow-up with the Meguiar's #135 spray synthetic detailer below.

• Use as sealant extender or as stand alone polymer sealant.
• Create that just waxed look in a fraction of time.
