The great thing about a car detailing business is the ability to start on what many refer to as a "shoe-string" budget! (why exactly society has referred to it as this, I do not know) The point is this, that unlike most other business start-ups, starting a auto detailing business is something that can be done with very limited resources; which is just a polite way of saying with little to no money! I know when I first started out in my own professional auto detailiing business I had almost no money; but I wasn't going to let that stop me!

What I know Today, That I wish I knew Then!

The one thing I wish I knew way back then that I didn't know was this:

Yes, believe it or not, it is easier than most people think; at least if you are looking to get into mobile auto detailing first, and then work your way up to a fixed location later if you like. In The Beginning

Believe it or not, my biggest obstacle when I first started my car detailing business was my myself!

I was stubborn and cheap!

I was determined I could go about it alone and do things my way! If only I had been willing to invest a little money in finding help and training, I could have shortened my learning curve into months, instead of years! I seriously had to learn everything the hard way. Just the amount of money I spent on the wrong products alone was 10 times the amount of a really cool course I recently found online! (but more on that in a minute)

Today is Different

In my defense, the Internet didn't exists like it does today. Now anyone with Internet connection can bring up hundreds of sites and videos all talking and teaching how to go about starting a auto detailing business. My problem back then is actually the polar opposite problem you face today:

Too much information!

Back when I was starting out on the road to a car detailing business, I didn't have access to much information. I was limited to buying books or spending a fortune on detailing classes and franchises. Now you are faced with a new problem:

The good news is that you don't have to go about starting a car detailing business alone. Any trip on the Internet will confirm that you have hundreds of choices ranging from the absolutely free (also known as worthless), to very expensive, multi-day workshops at various locations. Or of course you could go about things the stubborn way I did and try it alone. But one thing I can promise you about that route:

It will cost you more in the long run!

Rest assured, going about it alone will cost you more in the long run in various ways:

• Wasted time researching products.
• Wasted money in buying worthless products.
• Wasted time learning techniques on your own.
