Land Rover Detail

This Land Rover detail is part of my Long Term results cars that highlight what is possible with consistent car detailing maintenance over the long term.

Anybody familiar with my site, knows that I have been a fan of the Land Rover line up. Today I am going to be highlighting a 2006 Range Rover that I have been taking care of now for over 3 years; since this SUV was brand new. Now that it has a couple of years use under its belt, I thought I would let you in for a close up look.

Aside from the after market wheels and tires, this Range Rover is stock. It does have all the important upgrades that are available at a premium cost. As we take a tour, I want you to take note at the level of perfection that can be maintained, for as long as you want, when the right techniques and products are used. Of course the right amount of money is also a critical element. You provide the right money, and I will provide the right techniques and products. The results are nothing less than miraculous, as seen in this Land Rover Detail. Before we go inside for the grand tour, let's look under the hood to see what is going on there.

The Range Rover engine

Nothing too incredibly exciting; just a very clean and detailed engine. Certainly the designers could have added some visual stimulus to the engine, as it is pretty plain compared to some of the other engines we have seen. As far as this car goes, the majority of the visual stimulus will be found within the interior. So let's go have a look.

The amazing details of the center console

The interior of the newer Range Rovers are fabulous! I love the combination of materials used, and the way the designers at Land Rover have blended them together for a complete package of sophistication, refinement and opulence. As I have always held to, Land Rover uses some of the finest materials out there.

The amazing perfection of the most used section of the car

Here we have a better shot of the drivers area. I love the supple leather used, along with the contrasting piping that enhances the seating design. Interiors this light, always present an added challenge to keep clean. Consistent maintenance is critical with such light interior.

The clean lines of the door panel

In this Land Rover car detail, we can see the design elements that Land Rover has built into the details of this SUV. Specifically I want you to take note of what meticulously clean looks like. See just how spotless the entire door panel is, that also includes the surrounding metal of the door itself. With the white paint, you could really see if any dirt happens to be hanging around. Yes, look as close as you like; you will not see any dirt hanging around here.

The detailing of the door jamb areas

Here is a shot of yet another perfectly clean area of this Land Rover car detail and the door jambs. I am sure to many, that this might seem over kill; not to me. I like clean every where. EXTREME CLEAN! If you look very closely you can see some permanent damage done to the leather, that can not be cleaned away. Even my "magic" with detailing is limited. I instruct my customers that there is a correct way, and a wrong way to get in and out of a car, so as to not do any permanent damage to their car. A lot of friction can occur as a person slides in and out of their seats. And when it comes to leather, this can have lasting results; be it good or bad results.

A look at the other area of the door jamb area

Take a look within this area of the passenger side door jamb area. This is what a door jamb area should look like and stay looking like; even after a couple years of use, as is the case here.

This Range Rover is what you would call a daily driver; and not just for a single person. This particular Range Rover is also a "kiddy Hauler". Or more specifically, the grand children hauler. As seen in this next shot, I thought I would record some evidence of the grand kids that had been in there days previous.

Hard to see, but the evidence is there laying in the gutter

There are a couple things to note in this picture. First, is the evidence that is laying in the gutter. (no, I didn't leave it there) Some peanut butter filled crackers and a water bottle. Also to note is the really dirty wheel. I had yet to detail the outside at this point.

A shot of the perfection of the kiddy hauler section of the car

I included this shot so you can see where most of the dirt happens in this car, as a result of hauling around kids and grand kids. This is of course after I performed my magic on this day. Notice the floor mat, and the rear of the front seat. These are the areas that see a lot of abuse from kids. Kids are often like dogs in that they like to touch and lick everything. While dogs will lick everything including themselves, kids generally stick to licking glass, and then smearing it around with their hands. I couldn't tell you why; I didn't invent kids, I just get to clean up after them.

The furthest rear compartment area with a shot of perfection

Here is the rear compartment where the sundries of life events get hauled around. Beach chairs, blankets,new plants for the yard, etc. As you can see, it still looks incredible and no, the customer of mine does not put any protection down in the back end. We have seen enough of the interior. Let's finish with some highlights outside.

The many "details" of a car; done right!

I wanted to show you a close up of the front grill so you can see what a grill like this should look like in a state of EXTREME CLEAN! Pretty cool, huh?

The up-graded wheels and rocker panel area

Here is a shot of the lower half of the car, know as the rocker panels. If you look within the wheel, you can see that it also is cleaned all the way through. Take note of the very clean wheel wells and wheel well lips. Did you notice the missing paint just in front of the wheel well of this Land Rover? I don't remember what jumped out in front of my customer this day, but it took a little paint with it. I have to do a little touch up detail on this at a later date and.

I have generally used other mobile detail services in the past and continue to do so for what I call a normal detail job. But I met Daren through Exclusive Motors as we share the same building. My wife uses the Suburban to run our 3 kids around and it gets very dirty in the process. I used Darren to take off a vehicle wrap on a Ford Econoline van of ours. Darren showed up on time and did a great job removing not only the decals but all the residue that was left from the glue. If you need a vehicle wrap taken off, give Darren a call.
